update:
doing some street tuning by my downpipe design was too restrictive to breath so i said screw it and just went external waste gates. breaths much better and now that i have acvs working, and set to 15# boost which comes on strong at 3500rpm, holy cow!
2 since its a twin scroll

tig'ed on to header

still a sleeper

Re: 912+STi v8 Spec-C motor
autocrossed it a few weekends ago but ended up scrapping the low hanging oil pain one time too many and it started leaking oil just after a run and luckily i was able to spot it and shut down the motor as it was idling on grid. i pushed it to the dirt and it dumped the rest of it there and i got a tow home. not a big deal cuz i already was in the process of dealing with the oil pain height. i consulted with Chris at Killer Bee Motorsports and he agreed to modify one if his oil pick ups shorter than stock but was just waiting for it to be shipped. since his stuff looks sooo nice and is so stout, i just picked up an oil pain and windage tray while i was at it. i installed the modified pickup which ended up being just about 13 cm below the surface of the oil pan mating surface of the motor. I then cut the Kill Bee oil pain down and reused the oil drain plug/oil temp sender port aluminum block and added a -10 AN bung for the turbo return line. it came out better than i hoped for my first major Aluminum tig project

Thanks panel. Next project is the shroud to route the hot air from the radiator out through the opening where the stock gas tank sits. Need to start mocking it up w templates tomorrow.

phew, a day of ax'ing and no need to wrench on anything
205 section wheels and a lot of power needs more finesse than I have yet developed but fun non the less.

Re: 912+STi v8 Spec-C motor
Thanks guys, it's crazy fun. but I so need to learn to drive it better. Had a few instructors request to ride with and at the end of each run, they were just crackin up at the hp that little car was makin...once I straightened it out. I highly recommend 250+ hp and rev limit at 8k to get the heart rate goin

That is LOW to the ground.
Fast though, just keep it on the track and don't try to street drive around here.

Yep, water/air intercooler, poor airflow for air/air w stock deck lid.
Steve,
Ya, I have about 3.75". Ok around my town except when steep driveway or dip, then I slow and take at an angle. Contemplating getting a ARE dry sump plate and Avaid pump and just stop mucking around. Element tuning can sell individual parts cuz kit won't work for my application.

Re: 912+STi v8 Spec-C motor
I mean the turbo itself? Not the intercooling. Was it factory water jacketed?
