Unsticking a sticking AFM?

Post by Ancientbugger »

What's the best way? Pull it all apart or just a spray down the inlet?

Always try the simple solution first.
If you take it apaht, make sure you have a spare, first.

Break Free CLP works wonders for a lot of things--- expensive little foaming aerosol spray cans can be had at Wally World with the gun cleaning supplies, or you can buy a pint pump spray bottle that will last awhile online--- much cheaper that way.

CLP is what WD40 wants to be when it grows up.

I started using it on B52 chaff ejectors in the USAF ~1987...
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Also comes in "drop" applicator bottles...

Tri-flow is killer stuff. But do not use it on anything other than the flap hinge itself.
Any oil based lubricant or cleaner that gets on the ceramic circuit track in the AFM will hasten its death unless you can absolutely for sure keep it surgically clean. Oils attract abrasive dust to the carbon track. The wiper moves it back and forth....and it literally abrades away the carbon trace.

D-jet, and virtually all other TPS systems suffer the same wear issues at different rates as the carbon trace in L-jet when oil gets applied to the traces. Ray
