Wife Approves

Post by Searoy »

I mentioned to my wife that we should get a Vanagon Westfalia (Westphalia?). At first she said "Ewww!" Then today as she was driving home from the vet she saw an early 90s Westy. She called me right away and said that it was cool, like big blue refrigerator on wheels, but cool.

Don't know if I'll be in the market for one any time soon, but it sure would be nice. I wonder if it'd flat-tow a Type 3 cross country? I'm in Cali, so no engine mods/swaps are allowed. sht.

Greetings. Type in, californiacampers.com. Click onto the www.vanagon.com/rental/ address. They rent Westies. Have offices in S.F. and L.A. Best way to try before you buy. Pricy, but worth it, I feel. Enjoy

Have a look at the thread in "engine swap in diesel vanogon" below.

consider these guys: http://www.tiico.com/prod04.htm

puts a 2.0L modern Jetta engine in back, mostly with parts from VW South Africa which sold Vanogons that way from the showroom. Probably has better emissions and economy than stock, could be legal??? even in Calif...

Sure sounds nice ... especially on a Synchro .. mmmh. If I had the money...
