the funniest thing!!

Post by stinkbus »

I witnessed one of the funniest things today and I think that most of you will appreciate. I work at a Brewery in Tx and was busy at work when I noticed a VW bus parked across the street. Being curious, I walked over to get a closer look at it. Never in my life have I seen a bigger piece in my life. Upon close inspection, the windshield had a hole blown through it right where the inspection sticker should be and cardboard(spray-painted the same color of the bus) was covering the hole. Aside from the fact that the inside was totally covered with trash.I went around to look at the engine and died laughing. It was a type 1 motor put into a 77 bus! The motor had no sheet metal and the pushrod tubes were pvc pipe threaded into the motor! The motor mount bar was broken in half and the motor was supported by a chain which was bolted to the frame. The real amazing thing was that the owner told me that he had just driven to Blanco Tx from Florida! I think that this is a testament to quality german engineering...
