Hey guys! Names Dan. I'm 46 and I just picked up a 1974 VW rail. Needs a bunch of TLC. I first saw these while on an ATV trip to Tennessee about 10 years ago. I've been searching for one in my area ever since. I literally just brought it home last night. It's still strapped to my trailer at home actually. I got it home after dark last night. It seems like the longest work day ever, just waiting to get home to work on it. Excited to be get things rolling!

Hey everybody. My name is Mike and I’m a VWaholic. It’s been zero days since I worked on my 66 Fastback. This is my 26th VW, and first Aircooler. Learning a lot along the way, I’ve had this car just over a month now (merry Xmas to me). I briefly had a 68 Fastback that had a 73 914 motor in it, but the body was garbage and it was missing the proper title, so I pulled the motor and gave the car back to the PO. He is still letting me pull parts I need off it as it turned quickly into a parts car without the motor. Found this forum looking for ideas for properly fitting the motor to use the T3 bellows and tin, hanging the motor, and getting the old girl running (it was running in the 68 when I bought it).

In the t3 forum you should find a sheetmetal pattern in .pdf format to base your T4 swap bellows adapter on.
(if not, pm your email address)

I actually ditched the bellows for some silicone impregnated fiberglass fabric in a spring loaded loop on both ends,goes on/off in seconds and works well and holds up far better than new Chinese bellows. (currently running a 1.8 with 2L heads with MS3 in my 73 square, for about the last 90K miles, daily commuter)

My name is Brandon and I have a basic stock 66' baja w/ 1600. I picked it up awhile back and finally have it cruising the streets. Took it offroad for the first time last week as well. My first car was a 66' bug and I had 2 baja's after that. I took a LONG break as some tend to while they grow the families, but I'm back in business now.
