Wayne’s Build

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Wayne’s Build

Post by MonyPwrRes »

Hello to all, I’ve taken the plunge to go water cooled and bought a nice roller that has most of the work done. But there’s strength in numbers so I’m going to use this as my platform to get input. So first let me introduce my new money pit!

-Crumco build chassis
-King coilovers and bypass on all 4 corners
-Mendeola 2d Tranny
-Honda 3.5 v6 with harness already
-Jamar x front and rear hubs with disc brakes on all 4 corners
-Twisted stitch seats front and rear bench
-Rob Davis radiator

I’m in my garage having a beer 🍻 celebrating but have lots of work to do to complete it. So I’ll be relying on you the masses for advice.Image[/img]

Saw your previous car for sale on Samba recently.

That Crumco is made of 1-3/4" x .120 tube. That chassis just MAY have been built by my son Warren. He worked at Crumco for several years. He might recognize the chassis. But right now he's out in the garage working on a tow hitch for his pal's Ram truck. Then he walks in as I type that. He recognizes it, but can't think offhand who he built it for.

I got my hands on this from a gentleman that has had it for quite sometime but family grew and project had to go. So I called Crumco and he has agreed to finish the build. I’m selling my other car and will be taking those proceeds to get this one 100% done. So as of this minute I’m making my grocery list. I’m antsy and ready to get this thing started.

Awesome progress. I would like to see me more update.
Finally got a set of 8-ball chrome dub wheels. Excited to see how it'll look when installed.
