Grease Cup Problems

Post by ct937 »

I never thought I’d be asking for advice on grease caps but here we are... and no I’m not joking.

I bought a set of (111405691B) grease caps to fit over my new front disc rotors of Brazilian origin (113407075BR) from Dune Buggy Warehouse. But they don’t fit. They don’t even close to fit. They were so far off that you simply couldn’t get the grease cup to engage with the rotor whatsoever.

After fussing with these for hours I finally pulled out the sledge hammer, also to no avail...

How the hell do you get these things on? A 10 ton press?

Depending on the cut of the snout on the rotor, they may requite a balljoint -or- king pin style dust cap. Give DBW a call and see what they say. Brian Drew and team are good people.

It’s a kingpin front as I told Rob at DBW. He says they should fit but they don’t... as far as I can tell there is only one style cap that fits the disc rotors. It either comes with the speedo cutout or doesn’t.

I’m going to buy a new set from a different supplier and see if they’ll fit. If not I’ll be machining rotors or the cups down. (Which is a ridiculous waste of time for parts that should fit!)
