Thoughts? Cam combos?

With Turbo and Super charging you can create massive horsepower with vw motors.

You might pick Chips brain. He started a compound build but I don't know exactly how far along he got.

I think he was generalizing. Any engine that is cammed for high rpm, the low end suffers. Everything is a trade off.

Never had any issues with the strokes I've built,,, thing is the stroke adds to the low end 'Grunt'! as long as it not over camed , as in mismatched cam/heads/ carb its all in the 'combo' maybe Art road in or drove one of them? like an old school FK 89 cam drag motor

my 2110 with 86b 9.3:1 almost had too much bottom end at low speed, especially at around town and slow pace.
i've now just added a turbo to that setup with only changing to a single TB, nothing else.... we'll see

Of course you didn't have issues. What you have is a good combo. I think what he is saying is let's say you had the same engine but had an FK7 in it. If you stepped from that up to your FK10, the bottom end would suffer.
Andy that 86b with a turbo should be killer!

Schweg, you wrote this earlier:
"My other big item I thought of tonight is the spark plugs. My manifolds don’t let me swap them with out pulling them so some moved plug holes would solve that."
How do intend to move the plug holes??
I have the same problem. I was considering cutting some windows in the firewall for access points. Really don't want to cut up may car though! For now it really doesn't take me long to pull it apart, but it sure would be nice to have easier access. Also anytime I have pulled my plugs they have always looked great!

They have an angled plug hole I think not sure if the Panchitos have it or not.

40x35 valves may help that to, but what I’m saying is be careful what you wish for lol
Yh and high compression still will make it an interesting experiment!! :)

Interesting. I never noticed about the relocation of the holes.

I have the 044 heads and Speedshop SP1 manifolds which are like big beef manifolds kinda. They use the Allen barrel nuts.

It’s super tight and a struggle, I just brought a thin walled 18mm spark plug socket that helps (044’s have small plugs remember)

That and a combo of extensions or knuckle ect will get them but just takes some time! :) Porsche shroud too which may not help

Oh boy! Hope you have some E85 in your area!
I guess maybe I shouldn't have said that I can't get my plugs out. There is a chance I could get mine out. So far I have only messed with mine when I was doing something else already apart. Like you said, with the right combo of extensions and knuckles.... Maybe. I turned one of my plug sockets on a lathe. I still have my intercooler water hoses that run along the 3/4 tins right in the way of the spark plugs.

I think you will be the highest compression street car i have heard of so far. Although Chip is right around there somewhere. He also has squishy pistons and E85 though.
If you can make 5-6 psi it should still be a pretty stout street car.

7psi spring in the external gate ;)
I reckon the hx40 will flow a good amount of air too.
We’ll see, it’ll either work or it won’t, I’m not expecting too much but will be a cool thing if it works out for the best!
Worst case I’ll just add some barrel spacers but will try it without first
