Yeah that turbo should move some air! I'm interested to see how it goes!

Re: Thoughts? Cam combos?
Go peruse through the thesamba.com Engine/combos thread. Check out all the stroker engine dyno graphs and use a 1.358 factor for the NM conversion. You have to divide the NM by 1.358 to get lb. ft of torque.
Not one stroker puts out more mid range torque than my engine at around the 3000 rpm range. I didn't go back through the whole thread but what I did.... some match fairly close but nothing outstanding. Not one N/A engine beats mine in max torque........

Since sambanista's don't do turbos I can't gauge how a turbo stroker does.
Dyno yours for us Mike....then we can compare.....

Mine shows about 115-120 lb. ft of torque at 2275 rpm........there is 5 lbs. torque difference depending on the wastegate at 6.0 lbs. or 20.5 lbs.
Max at 20.5 lbs. boost is 201.78 lb. ft.

Here is a dyno that should be comparable to yours Mike. Just to give you an idea. This was built by AJ so it wasn't just some slap together. His business practice is at question sometimes, but not his skills.
This is a 2276 with a street cam and 8-9 psi of boost.

thats closer to NA power, seems on he low side?
this is from CB's website, seems more like it, its a street engine they say, so on the lower end of the scale IMO,

Re: Thoughts? Cam combos?
They aren’t pushing a ton of boost with 55 lbs injectors, though I would say that AJs numbers are more realistic for a draw through blow through set up. And the CB numbers are FI. Though I think they are leaving power on the table locking the ignition out at 24 degrees.
I would be interested to see what the water meth, air to water Intercooler, E85 and what not would add to both those power wise?
Seems that both of those are fairly tame as the sellers don’t want there engines to pop.

The CB one posted is also a 2332cc.

A street engine that peaks at 7000 rpms?! That has to be at 15+ psi of boost too. And it is injected and quite possibly water meth injected.
And no way an N/A engine is going to make nearly 200ft/LBS of torque at 2500 rpms. Also keep in mind that turbo 2275 is 170 hp at 5000 rpms. Won't find that on an N/A engine either. That CB engine is also 2332. 170 hp at 5000 rpms on a 2275 is spot on by the calculator I use.

I wasn’t disputing the turbo vs NA side I’m just curious what boost numbers they are running.

Re: Thoughts? Cam combos?
I just told you!
AJ's was 8-9 psi for sure. And CB's would have to be 15 psi to make those numbers.
FYI, if you could spin yours to 7000 rpm you would make 325hp!

I missed the boost numbers on the AJ one.
And what your saying makes sense. I guess I’d be curious to see a big bore cat throw 20+ lbs in there engines and look at some dyno numbers.

No need. This calculator is pretty close. Just plug in the numbers. No torque values though.

Re: Thoughts? Cam combos?
I am going to try 9.6 cr with a web 86a and 1.4 rockers on a 2180 thickwall motor although I am at 3500' above sea level.
Have most of the turbo goodies need electronic boost control and figure the waste gate {misplaced the internal actuator solenoid
} now have to figure out/ chase down the water meth system ....so excited
Sure hope it works just received the air to water radiator last night. So will puts with that this weekend
here is a very rough mock up.EDIT put all wiring back in and took her for a NA scoot shortly after this mock up CANT WAIT YEEHAW

Good luck brother! That's a lot of compression! What sort of turbo is that?

Re: Thoughts? Cam combos?
Subaru TD04L got it from a company that imports cars and engines from japan not sure what model it comes off. Our local Subie dealership says it is not in their data base for north American cars when I was trying to find a waste gate actuator that I seem to have misplaced and can't seem to find in all my piles of stuff
So how do you think a 86a cam will work in a Turbo motor ?
