2276 build
So I decided to start a new topic rather than putting it in my 1600 thread. I am planning to start collecting parts for my 94x82 build. Please feel free to interject your opinions.
Nothing is set in stone right now besides fuel injection and turbo of course.
I have a virgin case that has been cut for 94's. Also I have a set of AA cast 94 pistons and barrels. Scary. I could also use thick wall 92's in it as well. I'm not opposed to some good forged pistons or SS pistons either. Still considering a new aluminum case though too.
Unsure on heads too. Something between a mini wedge/wedge/super pro/ultra wedge. Same with the cam. I was thinking something kind of middle of the road like an 86b which is 575 lift with 1.5 rocker and 260@50 (or maybe an FK8).
This is still a street car but I may take it to the track when the opportunity arises. I'd like it to turn some rpms but not sacrifice all the bottom end.
I'm going to be looking at the BW and Precision turbos as well. Will still use a barrel cooler and E85.
Any thoughts?

with all their expert turbo advice
use the case already cut for 94's will run cooler then Aluminum case
use TW 92 ,u won't feel ant diff between 94&92
,, I've cracked 94's
good forged pistons!!! I've had great luck with Mahles (spelling?)
maybe them new I beam Rods CB has or H-beams? and don't use 'clearanced' stock rods on a stroker
just slap in a FK8 with 1:4 's rockers you'll have good bottom end w/the long stroke
I'd get a 78mm crank from DPR
4mm diff ain't much but less flex
this will be my next motor I'd like to build too.

Well everyone always says a good N/A engine makes a great boosted engine. And there are a "couple" guys with some experience there.

There is really no research to do. Kind of uncharted territory. Chip would be about the only one with the info I could use.

Does he run 30 pounds of boost?
From my research it looks like 15:1-16:1 is about Max N/A.

One would think 9:1 is not that crazy. Most of the turbo engines friends had where around there give it take .5. I always assumed there was some sort of VW magic as to why guys ran super low compression ratios.

I think most do because of carbs and crappy fuel. Being Aircooled can't help. I run low compression because I want to be able to boost as much as I can.
I don't want to get too crazy because I still plan to run plenty of boost. I'm counting on cc's to help carry me on the low end.

Aircooled part maybe some, but.... motorcycles have ran higher compression from around the same era all Aircooled with minimal issues.
I don’t think 9:1 is crazy, even less so on E85.
When I build one that’s what i am going to shoot for ratio wise. And I would love to run high boost but honestly I don’t think you’ll need more then 14lbs. That should put you north of 220-240 at the wheels.

Haha! Really it shouldn't be difficult. Almost any 2276 will make 150-170 hp N/A. Double (or hopefully triple) that with boost. In my head I'm targeting around 25 psi. Of course more if I can!
