1974 VW Beetle Standard, no spark

I have an air cooled 1974 vw beetle Sandrail was running good and I thought I would put new cap rotor plugs and coil when I changed everything I tried starting it made a popping sound when running then stalled and now no spark just turns over I don’t have a clue on what I could have possibly done wrong I’m new to the VW but it was just cap rotor Plugs and coil so I put all original stuff back in because it run with all original stuff in and now it still will not start pleas if you can send me in the right direction
