MaxiTaxi Fuel Tank
I have a 69 MaxiTaxi with a fuel tank behind the rear seat. My fuel gauge doesn't register. I don't know whether those tank placements usually have a fuel sender unit or not. If so, do I need to lower the tank, after removing the engine, to determine that or to replace it?

My somewhat similar body and pan setup is more than a bit different than yours is. Since I have never been around a Maxi Taxi can you take a pix of the area. If it is behind the seat is there a shelf behind the seat that the tank sits under... mine is like that. I know that there is a cover over the engine but since I have a V6 in mine things are going to be a bit different. Also, does you Taxi have a flat tank or, if not, what shape.
I might be wrong here but if I remember the sending unit is sending its signal in OHMs. If I remember correctly the sender is sending the ground to the hot gauge. https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/sy ... uge-sender. Maybe this will help.

If I can figure out how to send a pic, I will. I can only see the bottom of the tank. I've not climbed under the car yet. I suspect I need to remove the engine to do any meaningful service to the tank.

Re: MaxiTaxi Fuel Tank
You are probably correct on the engine removal.
As far as posting pix here it is easy: look below and see "options" and "Attachments"... pick "Attachments". That will get you into "add files": click on it. Hopefully it will go to your pictures then choose the one you want to post (you can only do one at a time which is not a problem) and click on "open". It will give you a dataset number then click on a space in the post where you want it to be then click on "place in line". Repeat for more choices.
Make sure the pix size isn't too big. My pix are 640X 480 but some are larger and some are smaller.
