I don't really dare say anything when I have not done that myself tbh.. Its a pretty critical thing messing with the oil internal system.
You can just put the filter in the oil stream out of the DS pump no problem though, but I have never removed the original filter location as it was never 'needed' and worked.

In the end I had to push the engine to the front of the car and now my original turbo location is not possible, if I can move the OEM oil filter location then there is a good solution for a new turbo location. All a pain in the neck after my previous header design. Part of the game of what we're doing....
With the output of the DS pump I was worried about restriction, but see many drawings online doing it.
I will talk to Jim Calvert this morning, he will know I think.
I'll let y'all know when I do! It could help someone else out in the future.

OK, an update from a man that knows....
It is fine to use an OEM filter location block off and run the oil filter on the outlet of the dry sump pump, into the oil thermostat and then up to the (front mounted) oil cooler and back into the oil tank.
So now all I have to do is design a new turbo header........I think that could end up being better for chargecooler piping etc so I'm looking at this set back positively.

Good news! Isn't James from Stateside tuning? It is a name that rings a bell with me ;-)

Here's a shaky video of it in action (sorry about the quality, my phone didn't like the saturation)

Getting closer!

Chip - I'm glad you saw this - our plan to cut down the PCB worked well :D I'm really happy with my 3D printed holders - if anyone else wants to do the same thing let me know I'll get some professionally printed.
Turbo header 2.0.......
After the Y where the 42mm pipes merge we went to 50mm as we were worried about the lobster back on gas flow, plus it formed nicely to match the inlets of the turbo flange. Unfortunately header 2.0 is a compromise compared to 1.0, but a 25HP engine bay is challenging with the 915 gearbox and 911 fan (I really wish I'd known about the centre mount option before the case was cut, it would have saved a lot of arse ache.............). Next time!!
