Quick update. I ordered a set (8) of plug wires that were compatible with my coil pack. I modified my CB Performance Magnaspark wires with the coil pack connectors. I fabricated a mounting bracket that will mount to the distributor delete plug I bought from TheDubShop (sorry Mario... love the plug, but want to utilize the wasted space). The coil pack now sits where the distributor used to.

Here is the picture of the coil pack mount (prototype)...

Here is a picture of the coil pack installed. It is tightened using the existing CB Performance distributor clamp. You can also see the IAT sensor in place...

Any cranking will be to test the crank trigger sensor... So yeah, I guess I will crank it this weekend.

Still need to lengthen the coolant temp sensor and wire every thing up... And still need to finish plumbing the fuel lines. Have all the stuff, but the tank still needs to be pulled, cleaned, cut and modified. Lots of work still.

Cant argue with that. Have most of the wiring ran. Plumbing within the engine compartment is coming together.

Bought a fuel fitting and hose kit off Amazon to plumb the engine compartment. These fuel lines look amazing. Now to find a Jenvey parts dealer... Need a fuel rail with AN fittings. Will be sure to get that done prior to the new engine.

I like how the coil pack bracket turned out. Gonna go ahead and use it. Will upgrade it sturdier for the new engine. For now, this will work just fine.

Nice mounting.....
I put mine in front of the shroud to give me more room in back.....it's amazing how fast you run out of room once you start adding cool stuff......

I put mine on the upper right corner of the firewall. At the time i was unsure if i would ever need to get to it. Never had the need though.

Thanks guys... Been busy, got the tank out. Washing it out with Dawn a couple times to get the fuel, dirt and debris out. Then the internal fuel pump mod can be done.

Yes and no... I purchased the activation key for Tuner Studio. Had to modify the sensor mount in order to get close enough to the crank trigger. Initially had what appeared to be a good sequence. But have since been unable to see the wave form. Probably just need a minor tweek... Or a new mounting bracket. With the ignition on, when I turn the crank pully, one of the relays is clicking as the teeth pass... I think its the fuel pump (I could be wrong), so it seems to be picking up the teeth. Didn't mess with it too much, had a lot of work to do still.

Finished the plumbing in the engine compartment, and behind the firewall (AN6 bulkhead fittings through the firewall). Was able to wash the tank numerous times to get the residual gas out. Still had a faint smell... But cut into it any way. Proud to say I didn't blow up!

I taped around the hole I traced so I wouldn't scratch the paint...

Initial fitment is good. And placing the 1/8" gasket I made out of a sheet of Buna-N rubber, should have a good seal...

I managed to break my threaded insert die. Decided the holes needed to be bigger anyway. I bought some 1/4" X 20 threaded rivets to mount the assembly, should be here this week some time. I have an idea for a swirl pot too. More to come on that. Hope to have the tank back in the car and pressure test it next weeked...

Ok. So the swirl pot, reservoir or whatever you call it, will be needed in order to ensure fuel is readily available for the pump and no air is allowed into the pump. During hard acceleration and left turns, the G's will force the fuel away from the pump. I will have to fabricate one, probably out of aluminum. I'm thinking rectangular 2" X 6", and 1.5 - 2" deep. With a hole to allow gas to enter when the tank is near empty... Which, by my design, will no longer have a "reserve" (very bottom of tank near original feed line)... Empty will be very much empty. Will just make a habit of keeping the tank at or above 1/4 tank.

Now, if I were to do this all over again, I would have centered the pump in the tank. Have the fuel inlet sock as close to the original fuel outlet as possible. And run the return line away from the inlet with an internal hose. That would be my advice to give if anyone tries this modification.

Just waiting on the threaded inserts, should be delivered Wednesday.

Just a thought: If I were to make a fuel tank by myself (impossible) I would think hard about putting baffles inside. that would/could slow down a lot of the quick sloshing you might run onto on the track or in steep angle areas.
