Re: New guy, new build
ok so I switched to a long db9 cable and connected the db9 to USB adapter directly into the laptop. Just did a 10 minute idle and revving in my garage with no disconnects! I also turned on the noise filter

I’m sure mine hate me but the car is still up on jack stands so I can’t take it anywhere to “tune”Piledriver wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 2:45 am Hopefully you also opened the garage door!!!

Oh yeah. Try firing it up with a 1' long 3" open exhaust at 5:30 am. Make all kinds of new freinds!

I fire mine up every morning at 6:15 with a 2 ft. long 2.5 inch exhaust......and just to let them know I'm heading to work I go out at 23 mph and 2300 rpm all the way out the development......got to let it warm up you know.......

Quick question, how do I get my tach to work? I see a pull-up resistor method? Are there tachs that work with the 5v signal MS sends out?

Most aftermarket tachs will work with logic signal/5v pulldown signals. try that first.chriswillrise wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 8:49 pm Quick question, how do I get my tach to work? I see a pull-up resistor method? Are there tachs that work with the 5v signal MS sends out?
If that doesn't work you get to add stuff to your proto area... the transistor/relay coil setup should work with ~any tach.

Re: New guy, new build
I just wired up a relay to mimic a coil to run to my tach. This method only uses pins 85 and 86 (coil). You can open up the relay and dismantle the switch part of the relay to get rid of the clicking. It clicks every time it passes TDC.
Boost is contagious.

Re: New guy, new build
Got the tach to work now I'm just having a guy make me up a manifold for my TB with a throttle stop and a holder for the throttle cable.
I seriously cant thank all you guys who have helped me enough. I would've never taken on going EFI without this page and help from you all. Hell, piledriver has been helping me since I started this project off and on for like 4 years.
Once the manifold is done in a few days I should be able to put the car on the ground and start driving!
