Hello everyone,
on a pre 70 swingaxle gearbox, I have the second gear popping out at deceleration. fork adjustement was checked to be correct, I didn't redo the spring washer adjustement under the spacer sleevebetween 3rd and 4th, because the gearbox was stock from the factory.
My symptoms could be caused by this adjustement being too short and no pressure on the 1-2 slider hub, correct? Any other suggestions?
Thank you

I'm a bit confused...
If the forks are adjusted correctly, and you have the right parts together for your year trans,
Popping out can only be caused by the condition of the teeth on the slider and hub.
Check those carefully, and that you have the right slider and hub parts.
At least based upon what little i know about these things.. FWIW.

opened the gearbox. 0.32mm end play on first, spacer sleeve between 3rd and 4th with spring washer was 0.15 too short. 2nd idle gear had some unregular wear on side of dog teeth. now shifting smoothly
