Sounds like a lot of fun! Hearing stories like this makes me wish mine was back together. Glad to hear that the fuel system is better! I hate fuel issues. Nice working keeping your head on when it comes to launching and being mindful of that gearbox. What turbo are you running? How much boost? Car sounds good!

Man!! Import face off!!! I entered the burn out contest many moons ago!!kangaboy wrote:Track was great!! It was the busiest I have ever seen it since going there in 2020. Lots of racers and drifters there. I could stand on the fence and watch the drift folks go all day...it's mesmerizing. As far as waiting till September, I have been going to the event called Import Face Off, and that is the next one scheduled. If I can get a transaxle built up before then I would love to go to a test and tune session that they have regularly. I have my doubts about the transaxle part though, cause I just have no clue where to even start.
I’ll be there in a year cannot wait!
As for the trans talk to archway imports.

Re: MS3v3 System for CNP and EFI/Turbo "Beetle"
Thanks Chip! Looking at all of my logs from my runs, I was pushing ~17lbs. I have come to realize my waste gate isn't functioning the way I thought it should, and/or I have my electronic boost control set up or plumbed incorrectly, because the logs show the boost getting to 17psi and then just plateauing. 17lbs for the time being is all I needed till I get my VE table smoothed out and ready for some bigger boost. It felt awesome though and the clutch held up, so I could actually really feel it pull me in 2nd and 3rd. The turbo I currently have on there is an Amazon special that my local Bug Shop let me use for the time being. He tried it on an 1835cc and said it just wasn't moving enough air to spool up. It seems to be doing the trick on the 2084 though. I'll check the numbers on it and update it in my next post. Figured if it worked well I could look into spending some actual money on a good name brand one.
Mike, at least I took the bike racks off this time! And that was only because I had a set of keys to remove them
Still looking for the Yakima keys to remove the actual cross bars
I currently have a short shift EMPI kit, the little plastic one, on a stock shifter. It shifts great and I have no complaints there.
Schweg, unfortunate for us in the St. Louis area, Archway has been gone for almost 2 years now. Jim literally just shut the doors one day and changed the shop voice message to basically say "I'm retired". Good for him, bad for us. We have Jason at Midwest Aircooled now which is awesome, as I have visited him a few times and he gave me several pointers on the current motor. There was something nice about cruising up to Archway on a Saturday to grab some parts for the weekend that will be missed though.

Re: MS3v3 System for CNP and EFI/Turbo "Beetle"
Two years isn't bad for an update...right?
Well, to be fair there hasn't been a lick of VW fun to update this thread, until now.
Long story short, my innovate lc-2 wideband had been giving me guff for the last two years, and I just could NOT figure out what in the world was going on. It was a tuning nightmare, and it was literally like I was chasing my tail with every single change or update to the car that I thought was causing the problems.
Most recently me and my tuning partner, engine building, chief pit crew extraordinaire Jim helped me cross the bridge and help make the changes to finally allow my car to be useful and race worthy when he stripped his whole AFR set up off of his car and we slapped it on mine in the midst of a Midnight Madness race event. We did it in just 30 minutes too. Zip ties and all, the first run down the strip was literally like night and day difference. The car tuned appropriately and cells were adjusted per the "Easy" setting of Autotune.
My turbo beetle and Jim's 74 Chenowth in the pit lanes. Only aircooled VWs on the night making a statement with both of us running 13s on the night.

Labtop tuning and logging set up.

First run changed all the cells quite nicely, although I still hit the AFR safety set up, just because they were so off initially...but then run 2 with the new set up ran completely different and actually let me put the pedal to the floor while rolling through each gear, where previously it would (typically) hit the AFR safety switch due to terrible AFR readings. But then, it wasn't until the 3rd and final run of the night with the new set up that I was 100% satisfied and ready to actually devote some time to this car and the set up again. Full throttle in each gear and the car actually took it all and ran like I had always thought it should have.
Staging of the final run with Jim's buggy.

So with all that said, I FINALLY got into the 13s, which I have wanted to do since the day we built the new 2084...and there is a LOT more room for improvement to easily get us in the 12s or below.
Final run of the night with the turbo powered 2084 running a 13.3, and Jim's N/A 2084 running a 13.9

I'm happy to finally have gotten my dumb issues figured out for the most part, and happy to be back on this build thread again. Looking forward to some more updates this summer, and really looking forward to posting my inevitable 12 second runs in the future.

Congratulations!!!
I do have to note you are far from the first victim of Innovates products.
I have been using a 14.7 JAW 1.03 I picked up used since day one with zero issues, and have a pair of 14.7 Spartan3s sitting on the shelf awaiting use.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Congrats on the PB! I wish I could get another one
Are you running autotune down the 1/4 mile and not just EGO correction?

Re: MS3v3 System for CNP and EFI/Turbo "Beetle"
Hey Mario, per previous issues (which once again, was prolly due to my wideband controlling being on the outs the whole time), it was suggested to turn EGO correction off. So yeah, that's currently off, and I just ran Autotune on "Easy" for the last 3 runs of the night. It gave me a very comfy VE table that is actually usable now.MarioVelotta wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:14 am Are you running autotune down the 1/4 mile and not just EGO correction?
It still baffles me how this car and set up actually "work" now with a fully functional wideband set up. Crazy that I had so many issues for so long.
