I am putting together a Subaru EJ 251, using a new OEM short block, rebuilt heads, and the remaining parts from a 2002 engine. This is a NA engine. It will be going into my 1978 VW Westfalia Bus conversion.
I know that Subaru head gaskets for this vintage engine have been a problem. I know that a MLS head gasket is the recommended replacement. Does anyone have a recommendation and a source for a top quality MLS head gasket?
TIA
Marty

Re: Replacement Subaru Head Gaskets
Any remotely recent factory ones are MLS, would not surprise me if all the replacements are as well, but make sure to verify before ordering. Get new head bolts too.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
