78 or 82 stroke? Bugpack and scat engine kits?
I am planning on building an engine for my 69 bug. I want to know if 82 or 78 is better with 94 pistons. Any brand reccomendations for crank, cam, heads? How about scat kits, or bugpack.

78 is my favorite stroke size.....Going with 82 slows down the rev and takes the snap away from the engine, in my opinion...

Whatever parts you buy make sure and get a forged crank. Buying a kit limits your choices for rods and a cam. Buying the pieces seperate let's you decide what you want. Tim

jake, is your 78mm preference for drag [going through the gears] or 82 for daily driver grunt and give up a little spool up time?
