P & C question

Post by martinpicker »

I have to get a new case for my bus, as well as two new P&C's. I was thinking it wouldn't cost much more to get the case bored out to accept some 90.5 P&C's, and just get 4 new pistons instead of using two of my old onesthat were still good. The rest of my engine crank, cam, heads, carb etc are stock. Would this setup run well with 90.5 p&c's or would the engine need other mods
Thanks for you help

I'd go with machine-in 88's, myself, makes a nice torquey motor with the rest of the stock stuff. On the other side, I'd spring for a set of dual carbs, too.

88s would be the better choice for longevity; 90.5s are marginal in a heavy vehicle - no margin for any overheating so be sure the cooling system is right. 90.5s would give more torque but have a hard time breathing with everything else stock - top-end wouldn't be impressive.
