True, the other option he has is to find the spindles locally, and get the rest of the big brake kit from us. this way, he doesn't have the cost all at once and can stay within his budget.
For our modified spindles, stock height, the modified rotors, the caliper spacers, seals and longer bolts with new brake pads will be $480.00 This would mean he has to find some 944 hubs and '73 bus calipers (and spindles to send in for core), seems like he's under the "Old Speed" price to me!
If this seems like too much, you'll have to go another route as we have made this as low as possible without losing money ourselves. The spacers alone take several hours to make properly. Everything is hand-fitted and made to order, so every set is somewhat unique, and fits perfectly to the individual parts.

I'd like to see a picture of the 944 setup. The $480 isn't the setup for the 4 piston caliber?

The Old Speed kit can be a DIY. The "majic" part is just the caliper mount. A trip to your local bearing house and fabricate a spacer and your good.

But the Porsche parts are expensive no matter what. Maybe you could score some used ones in usable condition.

(People were doing the Porsche brakes up front before the Old Speed kit was out. )

But the Old Speed kit is nice and is done very good. If you don't like fabricating or trial and error or messing with stuff, pay the money to them. You get all your brake parts for that price and it'll all work good with the spindles already on your bus. It's a good deal for the price when you factor in the Porsche parts....IMO.

The Franklin stuff is fairly new to me...but looks GREAT! I love what their doing for old busses. I wish I could afford some of their stuff 'cause it'd make life much easier for me. But I've got more time than money since this is a hobby and so usually have to get creative. Their doing real neat stuff though....and I don't see to many others providing the stuff they do either.

Franklin, I never got your email, do you modify post 73 hubs to use porsche brakes on a 67 beam for a standard height set up, how much for the 4 piston set up?
What porsche parts do I need?
Thanks
Graham
