Glove Box Door

I glued the new dash face on my Ghia. But, I was wondering how the glove box door is supposed to go. Do I fold over the excess plastic and 'clamp' it with the inside section of the glove box door or do I trim close to edge.

Wrap it around and clamp it like the original. This will t ake patience and finesse.

Do I use a heat gun and/or cut slits so the plastic conforms to the shape?

A heat gun will help it match the original form; however, I think the factory may have slit it in a few places. Hell, you aren't looking for museum quality, are you?
