Hi all
I am repainting a KG in the original colours of Bamboo for the main body and a dark green for the roof. problem is I cannot find the codes or formulas for the paint The bamboo part is easy as I found an original sample but as the roof was repainted I do not have a sample for matching
Thanks

Armand,
Let me know if you find a supplier for your paint. I have been trying to get the same color for my 61 Ghia but according to the two suppliers I have talked to PPG and Martin Seymour) they told me the color is in their formula books but the ingredients are not legal for sale in my area (Palmdale CA.). The Bamboo Ghia (VW#L241) also had a green roof but cannot get a definitive answer for what color or VW# it is. It appears to be Almond Green but not sure. If you know of the correct color I would really appreciate it. Anyway, the above number is all you should need to provide to your paint supplier if he can sell it to you. This web link will show you the PPG conversion (www.autocolorlibrary.com ), it?s in the European section under your year and make. There are some modern colors that come close and you can get an additive to mix with a clear coat to get the retro finish as opposed to the more modern wet look. In my opinion Ghia?s don?t look as good if the finish is too shiny.
Good Luck,
Mike
