Harbor frieght tools sells a nice blaster. You'll need a good air compressor a least 6 hp. I use a very fine grade of sand in mine which works good when blasting thin metal parts. I would not try to sand blast large areas of sheet metal.
Avoid the plastic "over the shoulder" blaster it sucks in more ways than one. Depending on air flow to siphon sand from a box doesn't work as well as a pressurized system.
thanks...i found a place that will do the whole outside body for $300. thats not bad and they can do it quickly and i can prime it the same day myself at the community colege facilty where i'm taking classes.
Thumbs up for sandblasting, I've finished 95% of my panel and rust replacement. I'm planning to take the body to be blasted this summer... IMO sandblasting is one of the best ways to remove rust, aside from sanding, 3m wheels, wire wheels, and rust converter... Rust sucks.
