Clearances

I had to remove some material from the top of my case to allow the rod bolts to clear. How much clearance is necessary between the case and the rods?

I assume that clearances will change with heat, but do the parts stretch as RPM's increase?

Tom, a few years ago one of the books had a Type 4 buildup article (I think it was done at FAT) and if I recall correctly, they said .040 - .060 clearance. The same as for deck height to allow for rod stretch at high RPM.
