Help with blow-Dell carb?

Post by Peter Jager »

I have a Dell40 with chrome intake manifold, I would like to run that as a blow-thru system with the intercooler on my 1600.

I do not want to run outrageous boost, up to 10lbs would be nice.

Some one please help, i really do not want to send my carb to o-ringed for running 7-10lbs.

I have heard of people not needing to do the o-rings on the shafts. John your input would really help. I have ordered the Imulsion tubes for the carb from CB Performance.

So all help will be greatly appreciated.

Be clear about one thing, a Dell 40 in its present form is not intended for turbo charging. This carb deals in vaccumm at all times and now you go a put psi into it, gas will take all paths of least resistance, though the air horn to main body, throttle shafts, leaky lead plugs. The main issue is safety, thats why it make sense to "O" ring the shaft and get a membrain type gasket, would you like to see your dream up in flames? very possible. Keep that gas inside the carbs going only where you want it to go, or else.
Peace
