thrust?
i'm rebuilding a stock single port. i know that the case is 60th over and the crank is stock. but when i look on cip1.com for case bearings, and they have 3 dimension: case, crank, and thrust. what is thrust and how do i measure it? i know what crank and case dimensions are. i couldn't find thrust in any of my books and cip1.com only has bearings in 60th over with stock crank with 2.00 thrust. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Thrust is the width of the bearing saddle at the flywheel end.
Normally it is .865" and there are two common cuts after that.
.825" and .785".
That would be a standard thrust , and .040" or 1mm thrust cut and .080" or 2mm cut.
The thrust typically gets pounded over time and is somewhat smaller than stock so the standard thrust bearing doesn't fit anymore. The case is then cut and a bearing oversized on the thrust is used.
Some machine shops cut the thrust until it just cleans up then machines the thrust bearing to fit.
A good practice but impractical if you or the person doing the align bore doesn't have a lathe to do this step.
