Trunk Lid Stuck
I have a 1969 VW Bug and I was cleaning up in the trunk and I took off the weather stripping around where the lid closes and now that I closed it, it wont open. I have never had this problem before, any ideas would be wonderful. I push the button in on the handle as normal but it just wont open as it always used to.

There is a lock release handle.I dont remember on '69 if it is in the glove box or still to the lower left of the steering wheel under the dash.
1. Pull it and the hood should pop.
2. If not, and you are alone, use vise grips to hold the handle open while you try pushing the button on the trunk handle to open the hood.
3. If you have the glove box style and the paper glove box has gone soft after a mear 36 years of faithful service, you may need to pull on the lever/cable together as it is likely no longer connected to the glove box and needs a nice new fiberglass box to connect to anyway.
Dreaded step #4(no dynamite yet)
4. Failing this, the trunk is just stuck and the handle win need to be carefully cut in two with a hack saw or it's electric equivalent so you can rotate the two pieces and unscrew the inside bracket to release the hood.
