RAT engine build slot open

Post by MASSIVE TYPE IV »

OK...
Two months in a row another 914 customer doesn't keep his word and falls out of line after being on the wait list for 5 months.

Long story short:
I have a build slot for a 2270 Performer (160HP) or a 2316 Annihilator (180 HP) up for grabs if anyone is insterested and doesn't want to wait for months on the wait list. Its much easier for me to try to fill this spot than advancing everyone on my list one position- that creates a nightmare and a totally screwed schedule.

The engine build is set to begin immediately, so be willing to pony up a 50% deposit immediately. The engine will be completed in January and at that time the remaining 50% will be due.

This spot was for a 914 specific combination, but I can alter a few things and create the engine for a 356, 912 or Beetle conversion as well..

The best part for you guys is that the customer GAVE me the core he sent down for my trouble.. So who ever gets this spot in line gets a FREE (at his expense) engine core with 2.0 914 heads to boot!

I'm sick of people not keeping their word- nothing pisses me off more!

That would be like Wonka opening up the chocolate factory. Unless you pulled the golden wrapper like Brent, chances are slim any of us will ever get inside...

Yeah after I closed to walk in customers and stopped giving tours I don't let many people in....

Too many thiefs that think what I have worked for belongs in their garage to let anyone even near my stuff...

If they knew what I know- They'd stay far, far away!

BTW- You don't wanna work for me- hell I can't even please myself!

Jake,
How much is a 2270 going for now a days?? I scheduled a call with you last year, but cancelled. Just wanted to research T4's a little. I have a cherry 73 914 that needs a new soul. Not sure if I want to do it my self. I just built a 944S motor sucessfully and am almost finished with that project. The engine is coming out of the 914 this winter for a rebuild and tranny reseal.
Regards,
Steve

Quite a bit more than last year- When we added the store I went to full custom builds and gave every job even more dedication and time in the engine shop....

Most sell between 8-10K and up to 13.5 with developments and EFI..

One of them is sitting on my porch waiting to be dissasembled for any still reusable parts and for me to find a safe spot to burn it in the woods. Sorry Jake, I had to put a secondhand 1914 in the bug, type 4 is still out of $ reach. I need to get some loans and go back and finish up college, get a nicer job and build a garage so I can stop dropping engines in the street and afford the t4 power and reliability I dream of.

This is a great chance for somebody out there, a great christmas present from jake to you!

Heck, I have seen running T4s going for $100 on Ebay and I'm sure you
could get one out of a JY for the same amount.

Put a bearing in the FW and let er ROLL!

You can save up $$$ to build her later on.
I used a coffee can for parts....I turned in over $400 in change
and went out and bought a 80mm crankshaft!
:-)

GF never knew where that part came from!
