dtm with superflos?
Would the type 1 dtm cool superflos well enough for some street driving?

It's all dependant upon the combo!
I did not use any Super flos for my test work, so I cannot make an educated statemment based on experience.
I have sold several DTMs to guys with S/F heads and no one has complained of high temps, or fitting issues- But thats not enough to really mean anything...
I did have one 2275 test engine fitted with S/E heads with their crappy cooling characteristics- the DTM cooled them better than I ever expected at near 10:1 CR.

Maybe contact John Connolly...I think he knows of at least 1 person occasionally running S/F's or C/E's on the street with his Super Squish pistons. (actually, he might be running them himself...I can't remember).
As Jake said, it would have to be a well-matched combo. Maybe squish-pistons + nickies + perfect cam + DTM.

I'm not really looking for soming to use as a daily driver. just something that will make the 10 mile trip to the track and that i can drive around town. I haven't decided on a combo yet. one of the engines that i am looking at is a 2387 fk89 and the superflos. if i don't go with that one i will probably just builde a milder street engine.

A correct built engine with stock T1 cooling will do that.
I´ve done a 2275 w. 11,7 - 1 CR on SS pistons, S/F heads and a regular W130 cam. It´ll do 65-70 mph down the freeway without a problem for hours, and with a power pulley turning the fan. But if you start pushing it harder than that, the temps start rising, and fast.

I didn't you know had experience w/ ss pistons Farmer.
What cam were you using and what head specs? I've been fine tuning the ECU the last few days on my 13.1:1 ss 2275. PM me if you want.
