under wash

Hi,
I would like to paint under my beetle but there is the black stuff together with sand or mud stuck on the underneath. What is the best way to get this stuff off.I under wash with my 1300 psi washer but it is still there.

I used a wire brush on an angle grinder. It took awhile and was messy but it turned out great. Eastwood also sells a spray thay dissolves the undercoating. http://eastwood.com/shopping/product/de ... =undercoat

I don't know if it works though.
