Not universal, made for SDS systems only.

No laptop needed- thats a HUGE plus because you can drive and tune by yourself!

It is quite easy to hook up the mps and the tps to the rpm connverter of an LM1.

It is also quite easy to tune with a lap top, but two people make it easier. I compare any tuning on an efi system while driving to be similar to a cell phone distraction to the driver.

But when one is on a road where you might see one car every 10 miles, it's not nearly as bad!

It takes 10 times less time to tune on the road with two people compared to 1 in my experience. I handle the tuning on the laptop. I let a friend that understands EFI, and knows how to drive hotrod beetles, do the driving.

Data logging helps if you have to do it yourself.

It is only one wire to run from your ecu to your logger to log tps. Same with map, 1 wire.

But with the SDS you don't have a laptop, only a 2X3" programmer with 6 keys.

I did mine in the dark, in the rain on the way to Beth's house... After a 105 mile trip I was done with everything except the 6,000+ RPM values

SDS is quick to program, but I prefere a system where the maps are visible on the screen and a system with data logging.

I have tried both types.. Autronic, Haltech, Electromotive and even Motec. All of them have plusses and minus' but all the bells and whistles do nothing but confuse the general person who buys an engine from me.

Things have to be simple, or the engine is never tuned and the customer is never happy.

FYI in early 2005 while waiting on composite lifters we were down for nearly 8 weeks, during that time I took the opportunity to dyno all the aforementioned systems on the same engine and there was really no differences between any of the systems as a "fuel only" arrangement.
