R&R doesn't yet make an oil pump for our application and the ones they do sell are mostly used on race engines, not street. It's the logistics of running that style of pump that is the big problem. They can make one that fits in place of the original pump, but the biggest problem is the price and the quanitity that would have to be made to get it at that price. He figured it would be in the $500 range for a quality dry sump pump.

Cnavarro the reason why iam asking this is i spoke to frallan2 some time ago and he said that a dry sump pump would benifit the aircooled engine i agree, more free horsepower cleaner running oil, reduction in oil temp. I know that jake has these pumps which he said are in testing ( not for sale yet ). Pauter sells dry sump pumps but they are 600 dollars i think. I would love a pump that's serviceable and reusable this pump would be for my 2056 t4 engine and if possible could be used on a 2.7 or 2.8l in the future.
