Formula Super Vee questions

For road racing, autocrossing, or just taking that curve in style. Oh yea, and stopping!

E,

Don't forget you can run the slalom at the Bug Out twice a year with your car at Manassas. We need more AC VWs out there. The bank on the oval track provides some interesting challenges on right turns that the old NASCAR guys in the 60's probably didn't get to try.

A guy in NorCal was extremely successful with a supercharged (yes, I know Jake, you can't do that) T4 SuperVee. It was TTOD when it didn't break. Some photos at http://community.webshots.com/user/bgfrmnceh2o

So i just purchased a set of Mahle 914 rims to put in the Ghia. I know they are not optimal, but will be a definite step from the stockers that I have. Not to mention better looking and lighter.

I have to get this baby ready for Manasses for sure.

There is also minimum weights for SM. A RWD vehicle is somthing like 2200lbs minimum. SO I don't really know how much a Ghia weighs, but Beetles and Datsun 510's all are under and are put into a different class (sorry forget what it is called) with Lotus Super 7's and Kit Cars.... Have fun :p

Believe me, the car with me in it goes passed that point. Gross wet weight for a Ghia is 983kilos.

Air cooled FSVs are classed in SCCAs Formula Continental racing class. But this is now for regional level races only, not national level racing. (Meaning they are obsolete - my editorial)

For SCCA autocross:
Legal air cooleds are classed in B Mod where they dont have a chance ;-]. Water cooleds are classed in BM as well.
Any modifications put you in A Mod.
