I dont know much about the topic.... but it has been mentioned that I should run CIS. I dont know if there are any upsides to this or not. Or if it is even possible for that matter. I hoping someone could shine some light on the subject for me!
I am planning on running a 1.8 T4! I was going to get some 40 or 44 carbs.
Let me know thanks,
Erik

search the fuel injection forum i'm planing on using it with a turbo as well and many orhter have used it on there engines even jake's bus uses cis go for it just make sure you get the whole system out of your donar car they are plentiful in the pick and pulls i would look for cis basic or cis lambda as the later stuff has more to it computer and such but you will need the fuel pump or pumps lots had two pumps injectors lines (probably get some extra lines to do banjo to banjo connections to get the correct length to the injectors) get the fuel accumalator throttle body everything that is connected to the fuel system in any way you can alwayse throw away what you don't need later and look for a car with an engine size close to yours or mabye a hp close to what your expecting for your stock 1.8 look for an early vw rabbit 1.8 should do you nicely.

Short answer-- It Depends.
(relatively) short answer-- On an T4 upright conversion, you'll be making your own custom intake manifold, as of this date. Rumor has it someone may be making one for EFI+DTM use use that would probably also work great for CIS.
Might even fit Cali setups.(? pure conjecture)
If you are using stock T4 cooling, the factory D/L jet manifolds work great with CIS.
(only requires modified injector holders, easy to make, or you can buy weld-in ones.)
If you have a T1 in a Bus or Ghia, you have several manifold options and room for the airmeter---I even shoehorned one in an otherwise stock Squareback, admittedly with some sawzall work on the R side FH heater air outlet. A T3 never ran as well from the factory IMHO.
In a non-Baja Bug, it will be an engineering project to mount the airmeter. (must mount to the body, not the motor)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
