I thought I had bookmarked this info somewhere on STF, but have been unable to find it. Of course, I blame the #$$%J computer, but it's most likely operator error...
I'm running a stock 1600 dual port w/ stock '67 swing axle in a rail approx 1500 lbs. This will be used mainly city streets/highways. With 8 inch wide, 15 inch wheels, what tire size am I looking at to end up about 28-29 inches tall? These current tire sizes confuse the crap out of me. What ever happened to buying tires sized 6.70 X 15, or whatever?
Thanks for any insight you can give.
short tire size for 15 X 8 wheel?

Otis,
Check out Tire Rack: here is their website:

If you choose a brand of tire, then go to the name of tire, the specs of the tires will usually give you overall height. It is right there on the spec sheet.
Good luck,
Kelly (Cohibra)
