Classic Jake - When asked wouldn't the data be more realistic if you were to have a chase vehicle for all the gear, etc. Jake reply's "I want this to be worst-case..." and "I'd rather fix it on the side of the road, than depend on a water-cooled, radiator-laden chase vehicle"

Note: the mpg he quoted was before the gps calibrated odometer tests where it showed that the Plaque odometer was running 5.88% slow due to the larger than stock tires. The mpg on data pages have been corrected using the gps calibration which correlated to freeway mileposts within feet. Average trip mpg was 21.5 over 3450 miles going about 75 mph with at least 2480 lb of car/flesh/fuel/gear/gatorade/beef jerky.

I think the Pinzgauer would have made an AWESOME chase vehicle - lots of capacity and still air cooled.

Yeah, but 5 days of driving in the Pinz would put you in the Hospital!

I like the thought of being self sufficient and HAVING to make the car perform! I tell all my customers they don't need tools or spare parts in their car with a TIV and this proved it!

I liked the bit where Jake said he was thinking about putting it on the strip, but first he'd have to talk to the guy he was selling the engine to.

Thanks Don. We had a lot of fun. Looking at the data and reading testimonials is one thing, but living it is another. RAT engines are solid! It's a testament of the hard work and ingenuity of everyone involved over the years.

My laptop calluses, carpal tunnel, and sore ass are healing fine
