Lovely, the spammers have found us again. Amusing how they post in the "Administrator news" forum, huh?

Everyone should click on that link if they want their computer infested with at least one or two viruses, plus a mess of spyware...

I deleted the offending post above Dave's and in 9 other forums. Apologies to all.

There is just nothing to do about that kind of spammer except for me to find them and delete. It's not a bot, which I eliminate every day but are mostly invisible to the members, but rather a real person who gets on and posts in any number of forums.

Lucky they don't report to me. :evil:

Yeah, I saw the barrage of posts and when checking their time log it looked like a "human" was doing a cut and paste. Is it possible to block the IP of the sender? Just a thought...

You can block the IP, the email address, the username. But, they'll have new ones 2 hours from now. Sucks.

they are having problems like this on another board i frequent. ended up deciding the only real way to stop them is to manually review each potential registration, which would seem like way too much work for you to do
