Jake, I haven't read the article yet but I did read the captions. In one of them they mention you don't install the lifters until the cases are together. None of the other captions elaborated on this trick. I'm curious how you install lifters with the cases bolted together.

This is type 4...not type 1. The lifters are installed from the outside of the case. That is but one of the beutiful things that type 4 does for you. Ray

ANOTHER reason I don't *forgive* folks when the say the lifters *fell out*.

They could have TAKEN them very easily and not mixed them up.....

I have a questions regarding the pic with you installing the oil pump cover. I see that you are using the pump gasket but I thought you did not use that and used locktite 581 instead? I see the red loctite oozing out between the pump and case though-did you use any sealant on the gasket between the cover and pump? Also did you use the green Curil for the cylinder bases?

every instance is different with the pump cover.. In this case we used the gasket as thats the easiest way to assemble the arrangement for the readers that may noy understand how to blueprint an oil pump correctly.

we use no gasket between the pump body and the case, only 518.

Green Curil "T" works well for cylinder bases.

I havn't seen it here yet,and didn't find it in Detroit on the weekend.

Wow, you use 8 heat range NGKs in this mild of an engine? I would think 6 series heat would be perfect for 9.5:1 judging by my experience. 8s are for 25 PSI of boost!

What kind of kitchen cleaner did you use to hone the cylinders to the heads? Would you use the same for nickies?

It works well with Nickies too..

I mix Ajax with just a small amount of water to get a near toothpaste consistency.... apply and lap!
