The Plague returns home..... Whats in store for it now???

Wally, Undoubtedly there will be quite a few engines used for the new development... I want to start with a 2270 because I want to prove just how adaptable the combo is to so many different applications. We already have so many cominations for one that it's time to see what we can do with this combo at the strip. Also usinga 2270 will give us about the same combo that most TI drag racers use so we can compare notes on HP/TQ and times to try and see the differences and the similarities.

I know that an engine similar to the Mighty Spyder would be a heallacious combination for the strip, but that engine is less developed and would require more exotic components. I have tons of used parts to create a 2270 and when I break something I'll be happy instead of sad!

BTW- The Spyder was bought for the main purpose of fitting our new 550 exhaust system to it for a perfect fit and also to ensure the 550-DTM fits under the bonnett with no issues... From day one I planned to do these things to the car and then sell it... I never planned on keeping it..

yeah, until Beth spends a couple weeks at Classic LeMans seeing what the MightySpyder can do and then comes back to "test drive" your Spyder. . . don't be shocked if she comes up with the idea for that "perfect wedding present": RAT powered Spyder.

Of course, that's not a horrible worst case scenario!!

Hey!

Glad to hear of the Plague plans. Considering your BOR road trip, have you thought of trying Hot Rod mag's Drag Week? Five days of racing, no support vehicles, average 300 mi between strips. It could really showcase TIV power and reliability.

The rules include "Full interior" in the reasonable V8 classes but I don't know if that also applies to the four cylinder class.

That driver got a tongue lashing from my neighbor as he was pushing it down our street to load it on his trailer that he couldn't turn on our street. The neighbor saw him pushing it down the street and got in his face over stealing it. He was "let go" after the drivers wife showed up with some official looking paperwork.

Hey!

It sounds to me like it will at least have plates if you intend to drive it two miles to the track, slicks or not. I think (I'll check HR tomorrow) that they only want to see lights, wipers, horn, and insurance beyond regular issue plates (no "repair" or "dealer" plates).

It would be neat to see, if you can make it fit with your plans!

Here is "nowhereville" the cops leave you alone as long as you don't act like a dumbass and speed through town with open headers....

I was once pulled over in the Plague on the road in front of the shop running race gas, slicks, no decklid with open exhaust. The cop asked where the back seat was and I told him I pulled it out because it weighed too much. He asked where my seat belt was and I told him I liked to take chance..

He let me go telling me that I should go a few more roads North if I wanted to play...

Where I live they have the attitude that if you aren't driving a Lexus, a four-door soccermommobile or a lawn care service truck you're from the wrong side of town and should be arrested, or at least for not having a 3,000 square foot home made of brick on a .25 acre lot and having a wife named Muffy. Kinda getting stuck up around where we live.

I've only been here for a few years. Actually, my real name is Garmog and I'm emperor of the 3rd planet of Roogna in the V Dubba quadrant.

Actually, the neighborhoods around where I live are all getting uppity. We may just have to move to go somewhere more laid back.

That'll be hard as I'll need a custom car carrier for all my VWs!!!!!

Just kidding, don’t go shooting @ any orange Things on I90 on your way to your cabins up north, while driving through Madison WI.

Come a bit north my friend Madcity is one of the least upity places on earth and everyone thinks thier from places like the planet of Roogna. At least there are lots of majical plant users around. You may still be nearly the only VW magician but you won’t get run over while driving yours.

As far as police I think thier union has a rule against driving a car more than 1hr a day.
