How about smoothing out or deflecting the flow between the hood and the windsheild, seperating it (creating turbulancebefore it creates this lifting moment at the beginning of the roof line, and depower the bump. This body was not designed with 100mph in mind, but when I was 16 thats all I wanted. bongo

This string originally started with a transaxle question for Jake I think the question was about "beefy". I'm still in the dark on this, amd would like to know if anyone knows weather or not the standard porsche 901/902 (60's) gearbox (properly geared yadayada) is internally strong enough for a t-4 2270 applacation. torque-torque-torque. bongo

Yes it is... We couple them to TIvs making 200 lb/ft of torque going into 356 conversions and early 912s with no problems. Many of our 356 converts have done a 901 swap into their vehicles and use the standard 901 as a base, usually with a Quaiffe, but not all the time..

The problem with all 901 trannys is the first gear. They are made to be driven like a Porsche, not a drag car.. Popping the clutch and slamming gears are cardinal sins on a Road course!

As long as you take it easy on 1st gear you can put 200+ ponies through one.

Big thanks Jake. I know that second gear is intriegal on the input for these boxs (901/ 902) and cannot be changed without going to a post 72 shaft, but is there any difference between these two at that period in time ie, 60's,,, 912 vrs 911 trans. every thing I can get ahold of (very little) suggests they completely interchangable. I appreciate your reasurance, and understand the need for treating the driveline appropriately. Ive got great feet, in 42 years of driving I've only owned two automatics. I can spin the 33's on my 85 TOY 4x4 with 488's and a locked dif,,but why- - - - - thanks , "you are going to get my money" bongo
