How do you know it is a ground?Mufins13 wrote:i have a 71 FI square back theres 3 ground wires hooked up to the engine case and theres another one on the passenger side that i cant figure out where it goes any help would be greatly apreciated
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Bear in mind...all 23 wires in teh D-jet system....+ or -...are white.
The three ubder teh center intake plenum on the tab bolted to teh case are grounds. There is on some models also a ground that tabs onto the MPS. It is usually right near #3 cylinder.
The best way to be sure what it is...is to use a voltmeter on one end....and check each terminal at the ECU until you get a continuity reading. Then read the number on the wire...and check the book. Ray

is the wire that is on the passenger side a single prong connector of normal size, or does it have a two holed plastic connector? if it has a normal push on style connector, and it is a SINGLE wire, usually sheathed in its own branch of tubing, and it seems a little...long-- then it is most likely the wire that attatches to your starter and solenoid.
ray is right, without a picture, the only way to be sure is to check it with a VOM or a test light.
however it is either the wire that goes to the starter solenoid, or if it has a plastic connector with two holes, it goes to the cold start injector.
i have a 71 as well, if you like, ill take some pictures of the area in my engine compartment for you to compare with.
