I bought it a few months ago, not new and fitted it yesterday. But how do I know if it's the correct one for my car? It's a '61 Bug with 1500 'box and short axles.
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.
I tried one of those in the early 80's on my old swing axel and didn't like the feel so I ended up using a stock Z bar with flop stops to limit the wheel tuck.
As I recall the ends of my camber devise were diferent and rubbed through the axel tube paint quickly. Check yours in a month to see if the ends are rubbing the tubes or not.
The only difference would be the center mount , if yours bolted up ok to the trans , your good to go . The reproduction compensators may not have the different center mounts , for different models , like the original Empi one did .
One thing I'd change.... note that the mounts to the transaxle are "U" shaped - meaning you loosen the bolts, slide the mount in place and tighten the bolts. This will not stay on under repeated heavy usage - the brakcet WILL slide off the bolts no matter how well or how often you tighten them. I know that for a fact because I had one come off - causing a vehicle destroying off-road excursion at Willow Springs. I'd checked it before the session, and it took 5 laps for it to remove itself. When I built my next racer, a 64 Ghia, I had washers welded to the bracket just to make sure it couldn't slip out again.
