8 circuits enough for orr road race car? non street legal?

Post by 69bajakid »

Today is the day i am buying my harness for my buggy..
I dont need turn signals or wipers or anything like that..

so i was thinkin to keep things simple i would cut it down to an 8 circuit harness

my local shop has a killer price on this kit
http://www.painlessperformance.com/webc ... ield=50001

SO i was thinkin that it would do the trick.. i dunno if it has any gauge wires..i doubt it.. and im not sure if it has brake lights (i figure it would but i am new to the pre fabbed harness thing)

anyhow.. if someone has an oppinion on what size harness i should get please speak now.. cuz i hope to be at the store in a few hours :)

thanks for any info

I could be wrong, but I do not think that the pre-fabbed kits come with the gauge harness. Seems that there are too many variables for that. However, making the gauge assembly is pretty straight forward.

I wouldn't think that a "racing" harness would come with brake lights. Also, is that kit meant to be used with their switch panel? (I think I remember something like that)

As far as how many circuits you need.... just depends on how elaborate you want it. My friend has a four seat rail with a LS1 and alot of bling bling and he only has 10 circuits. Seems like it just depends on how it is laid out.

Cale, yeah it is always nice when you have a vendor nearby. Unfortunately, down here it is slim pickin's; everything has to come by the internet.

Noticed in your sig... Vancouver... No tearing up Stanley Park when you get her rollin'

:) i take it you have been here before?

Ya i know what your talkin about for local shops..most all the off road parts i had to buy were all mail order..this mopac place is a little bit of a drive so i often forget that its out there.. i wish i knew about it years ago..would have saved me some serious coin..

Your takin your chances when you deal with some of the local auto shops here.. they have a funny way of pricing things...and then the so called deals are often a bunch of BS>.. for instance.. yesterday i am in lordco.. ask the guy how much for MSD6AL.. tells me 475..i almost barf..give him the discount #.. 300...pick up the phone and call mopac right there in front of him..no discount # $250

after that big wind storm we had i dunno how much of stanley park is left standing..i know several thousand trees went down..

cale you should be fine with the 8 circuit kit and if you do use painless switch box it makes a pretty tidy install
