Backseat wiring help - regulator

Post by jengels »

I'm a newbie when it comes to this wiring stuff. Still trying to get a hang of it. Got the new floor in my bug (Didn't have one at all. Completely rusted out. Love Michigan) The wiring was all unhooked and not sure where it goes. Have the ones circled that I'm not sure where they go. The bluish green one was a guess. I'm not sure if it goes in there or not. Also I've got a spot on my positive cable for a wire, but no wire. Is there something I need to buy to hook up somewhere else. Sorry for my lack of understanding :oops:

Thank you for your help

Download the diagram I gave the link for in your other thread.

The silver box is the generator regulator.
The wiring to it looks like this:

The white wire in the plastic sleeve is for the rear window heater;
tape it up for now.

If that's a Green wire circled, it goes to DF on the regulator.

There is a mistake with the Red wire circled. Remove the short thin
Red wire completely. The Red wire in the plastic splice goes to the
starter motor solenoid connection. It's another Red wire and should
be laying by itself under the seat. The splice is shown as "T1" in the diagram.

The really fat Red wire goes to one of the double spades on the
regulator; the battery lead goes to the other spade.

Are the pin-outs the same for all the terminals (even for "universal") regulators?

No. Some aftermarket are different, but the terminal designations
should be marked on the regulator.
