I was tempted to get a set of 2.2 pistons and liners off him until I saw the price
Have a chat with him, he knows his stuff.
Don't reuse the bolts! The 2.1 rod bolts (or after 1986) are stretch bolts, they will never have the same properties again once used !
More important is the ovality of the rod big end
Imo this is the problem that is resulting in spinning rod bearings and kills the most WBXs.

GOOD.
I have yet to try fishing rods out of an assembled WBX block, but it IS fairly easily doable on a T1/T4... without splitting the case.
The only thing I'd really be concerned with is getting them back on right and not dropping or dislodging the bearings.
Consider Tencentlifes modded SCAT rods idea... Might be cheaper than a rebuild w/good bolts in Ol' Limey.
(Enables a CR bump too, with 5.5s)
Should be interesting.
Nice work, BTW!!!
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
Those are great but they are capscrew style, for aftermarket rods like the SCATs or such, search for tencentlife posts.
There is a thread on modifying rods, shows several options.
SCAT will modify a set of their Ibeams in-house for a 24mm pin for ~$20 ea, so that's like a pint of Guinness these days ?
Probably FAR cheaper to buy direct.

that's the thing i would rather pay a bit more and save myself the hastle, as it is a time thing now. i would rather not be running about getting bits machined.
Definitely call Scat, talk to Ron. They will mod any of their I-beams in house to the 24mm pin bushings you need for $20 apiece. No minimum order. I haven't ordered these from them yet but will be at some point, some 5.5's. Hopefully they don't take too long to do it.
I've just bought the same style of exhaust as you.
I can see where you have reversed the left head manifold and presumably added an insert to clear the water pump.
Did you need to do anything to clear the oil filter?
Ta

oi cheeky, yeah i added a slight bit and did a couple of slightly angled cuts before and after the filter so it bends round it.
i'm waiting on a couple of tools to come and i'm gonna make one like this as it will A be a bit tidier and B ready for turbo in the future.
