I was tempted to get a set of 2.2 pistons and liners off him until I saw the price

Have a chat with him, he knows his stuff.

You can only order using internet explorer, firefox does not work.

The reason I ask is that I had one on mine from the old 1.9 'camshaft failure'.
I had one bent presumably after the valve wacked the piston.
I have a couple spare from someone else's engine.
Let me check that he's cool and i'll send them too you.

All the cases of bent pushrods I'm aware of on the wbx have been due to intake valve seizure; for some reason, they like to stick sometimes on high-mileage engines. Probably due to insufficient detergency of the oil, over a long time. But anyway, the valvestem seizes in the guide, and the pushrod is what gives.

cool, i'll have a look,

i got a gasket set from TES, it came with some sealants, dirko-s and a unmarked white tube, am i right in thinkin the dirko is for the bug rubber gasket and the other is for the barrels?

thanks again for the info guys.

The dirko is for the heads/ barrels, the white tube is for the case halfs (yellow sealant).
Note on the sealant use:

I put a very small bead around the liner bases pior to fitting the black o ring.
I leave the green one dry.
You only need a thin bead around the cylinder head and be careful not to get it too close to any water holes.

I have a couple of spare pushrods you can have.
Let me know your postal address and i'll post them.

here's the next question...

i can't seem to find how much i should torque the con rod bolts to, i'm guessing that it would be differnt to stock bolts as they are non stretch. anybody know what the torquing should be?

Thanks
