As stated, I am in search of more front camber adjustment. I wish someone, somewhere made an adjustable camber plate to bolt the top of the strut into that would work for those of us with SBs. I have been out of the VW world for a long time so I'm a bit rusty.
But I noticed this... SPC EZ Cam™ XR Camber Adjusting Bolts
http://www.eurosportacc.com/camber_cast ... plates.htm
It says that it would work for the early golfs and if I remember right we can use the shocks from golfs on SBs. So would this work?
Part of the reason I am trying to work this out is that I would like to find a way to bolt up the front spindle from a 944 to my 79SB. I know it is totally do able but again if I remember right, the camber is way off if you do it. Im hoping to sort out if this could be a possible fix.
Or better yet, if there is a camber plate from an early VW that would be able to fix this problem.

The ball joint needs to go out some, or the top of the strut needs to come in... It's that simple.
More than one person has cut off the top of the strut tower and welded on a new fabricated bit, I suspect generic ones are available.
I'm planning on using the forged lower arms off an early car and welding a plate for MK1 Golf ball boints to attach to. (Is an early car, but same setup would work for you)
Someone might make offset ball joints, but those would be ~$400 and would work no better in the end.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
