While looking for an alternative to having to take some parts to be welded, I found this product...
http://www.aluminumrepair.com/index.asp
I have read through the website, and of course they are only telling the good. Can anybody give any insight about the bad or short-comings?

Looks very interesting. I wonder what the "welds" look like as far as coloring after they are finished. It looks like something I might want to try as well....Maybe fab up a custom shifter or an intake manifold....

I'm immediately skeptical when one of their lines is that you make a stronger repair than a TIG weld. Maybe a TIG weld made by an absolute novice like myself (Only fired one up twice, and man that was fun. Looked like crap, but that's an empowering feeling
) but not one made by a pro using the tools pro status implies.

"stronger than a TIG machine weld,. . ." Yeah right
I'm not buying it. This may be an alternative for folks needing to "stick" some non-structural stuff together, but if I'm going to weld any aluminum, I'm going to fire up the TIG and do it right. This seems like the type of thing you would repair a cast aluminum lamp fixture or something ornamental NOT build manifolds, repair wing spars etc with.
