You guys think there would be a market If I produced the manifolds and megajolt setup in a kit. I know half the point of the swap is to have the efi but that is also what stops most people from attempting it. Especially for sandrails and such that allready have a bug motor with good carbs. I could make the manifolds and supply a pre wired megajolt with map loaded, a crank pulley with the wheel mounted, and the vr sensor mount all in a kit.

yeah there would be some people for sure. I realy like the look over the suby intake. it gives it that VW look. You should do some advertising to help get you a customer base for that setup.

There is a real attraction in going to ITBs even if people don't want webers/dells. I reckon there'd be some sort of market for it. The trick would be getting it on a car that gets a lot of attention or does QUICK times.

I'd just like a set of the weber manifolds. Would they fit on an EJ25dohc?

you gonna do the kit? I was thinking about the same thing, $600 JDM motor that needs $1200 worth of wiring and ECU is no deal, but a carb swap and crank triggered ignition sounds sweet. How much for an ignition "kit"??

gives me and idea to put something like this into my ghia... did you mate it to a vw tranny and which one? if i was to do something like this to my ghia i sure would be interested in the setup

how hard was it to get the swap done? and about how difficult was it all in general and where did you run your coolant lines?
im in need of a new front clip for my 74 ghia, i dont care what year its from but i need one in order to fix my front end, can anyone help out?

Great Job 55SuperBeetle.

I was researching for suby conversions and I found out your beutifull EJ post. Great craftsmanship and detailed work.!
I currently have a EA82 carbed with the adaptor plate waiting. My plans are to either fuel inject the ea82 and turbo it, or megajolt it and use a carb. :)

Very cool build...I had dealt with a heat issue before when I had my radiator above the trans and I was ducting air to it....So when I mounted mine under the hood I wanted to make sure it was not going to have a hot running condition at all...My hood was aftermarket so I did not think twice about cutting holes and making grills...My fan only came on a hand full of times last year...And that was only after a 20 min drive on 100 plus degree day and in stop and go traffic.....The radiator really needs some good forced air flow to be able to do its job with out relying on the fan....But once again..sweet build...I will be watching this thread to see if you are able to make the cooling system more efficient while drawing through the bottom...

Thank's guys!

As for the kit I am willing to make a few but its going to run 720 bucks. I would aslo need YOUR crank pulley and intake manifold to modify. This would include,

Megajolt with map based hardware.
Tuning cable for Megajolt
Good used EDIS parts including coil, vr sensor, and module.
Wiring harness to mount module on firewall and megajolt in luggage compartment consisting of a two wire hookup.
Coil mount with integrated vr sensor mount
Your crank pulley with 36-1 trigger wheel attached
Manifolds tapped for a vacuum log (megajolt can just be run as rpm based if you don't want to use the vacuum source)
Custom MSD spark plug wires

Basically plug and play. The only thing you will need to figure out is the carb linkage unless you want to send me that to modify also.
It may seem expensive but it is very labor intensive to make all this stuff.

I guess I never updated the cooling issues but they have been solved for awhile. I literally cut another 1/2 inch higher up the apron and modified the air box to suite. Also added a pusher fan off a mercedes I got from pick n pull and got rid of the pathetic ebay fan. Been perfect ever since. Christmas took priority so he hasn't been able to get the slicks yet but he promised me by the end of January. A trip to the chassis dyno should be soon also!

Let me know guys
